Part of our job entails travelling to really cool and exciting places to test-drive new offerings for Active Escapes products. Sometimes we’re lucky enough to secure a sweet deal for our connections while we’re on a recce, and that’s whats come about on Sunday the 20th of November.
The Active Escapes crew will be taking up paddles and donning some super-sexy life jackets to raft down the Umkomaas River in KZN. Starting off near Richmond (an hour from PMB and about 1.5 hours from Durban), we’re going to be taking a day trip along 12 – 14km of white water, after which we’ll be transported back to our vehicles at the start. We intend to loll around in our rafts, jump in the river to cool off and hopefully get a bit of adrenalin pumping in the bumpy bits! Yee-haw!
We’ve been offered a special introductory deal whereby 13 Active Escapes supporters can join the trip at R220 a person. This is in excess of a 50% saving on the regular price. Yebo, that is a lot of moolah! No experience is necessary, and all you need to bring is a packed lunch and sense of humour (and sunscreen, that’s an important part of retaining one’s sense of humour).
If you’re keen, and you really should be because it’s going to be completely kick-ass; drop our fearless leader an email at sarah@active-escapes.co.za or ring her on 084 2407277. We’ll sort you out with all the extra info and banking details from there.
In terms of getting there and back again, once you’ve signed on we’ll make arrangements to share lifts if you’re coming from PMB and if we have Durban folk we’ll try and car pool you too.
